About

OnlyTransplants is a parody of the creator-subscription economy, and of the futures market it turns into when you follow it one step further. Nobody here is selling an organ today. They are selling a claim on one — paid monthly, delivered in a decade — and spending the proceeds in the meantime.

The joke is not that sick people are funny. The people listing here are not desperate for treatment; they are solvent, employed-ish, and entirely clear-eyed about the trade. A nurse wants to stop picking up doubles. An engineer wants the mortgage gone. They have looked at what they own, concluded that the only appreciating asset is inside them, and decided to liquidate early.

That is the part worth being uncomfortable about: not that someone might sell a kidney to survive, but that trading ten good years now for a body part later is a recognisably rational piece of financial planning. We already tell people to monetise whatever they have left. This is just the logical end of the sentence.

Everyone here is fictional. The creators are invented, their scans are drawings, and the subscribers are thinly-veiled parodies of the people who would, in fact, be first in line.

If you are looking for the real information — it is on the safety page, and it is not a joke.
